One of the Island’s most prestigious hotels, The Seaview, has appointed Mark Constable as its next Head Chef.

Mark began his career as a youngster at The Savoy before moving on to work at some of the most prestigious places around the country including a short spell with Angela Hartnett at The Connaught in Mayfair.

For six years Mark was Head Chef at the renowned three rosette Compleat Angler in Marlow and is currently Head Chef at Suffolk’s Ravenwood Hall.

Mark is committed to bringing his unique blend of skills to The Seaview’s kitchens. ‘I’m really excited about moving to the Island’, Mark said. ‘I want to work with farmers and fishermen to bring the freshest and the best to The Seaview’s tables.

‘Having our own farm at Carisbrooke supplying us with lamb, venison and pork plus herbs and vegetables is amazing. It’s a chef’s dream come true to work in a kitchen with a farm attached.’

‘I want to make the best possible with the finest there is. I want to shout about the best of British – and the finest of the Isle of Wight!’ Mark said.

Andrew Morgan, General Manager of The Seaview, said that he was excited about Mark Constable coming to the Island.

Mark Constable takes up his position as Head Chef on 8th August, 2011. He is 32 and married to Debbie. They have one daughter, Louisa, age two.
