From Fishbourne Wightlink Ferry (approx. 8 miles)

On leaving the ferry the flow of cars will take you right along Fishbourne Lane towards Ryde and Newport on the B3331. At the T junction and traffic lights joining the main road turn left on the A3054 towards Binstead and Ryde.

Continue on A3054, straight over a mini-roundabout and into Ryde (landmark: Ryde Golf Club on left). At next traffic lights take left-hand lane and turn left into Queens Road. Do not go straight on

At the end of Queens Road (landmark All Saints Church Ryde (with huge spire) on right, Ryde School on left). Traffic flows left down West Street and then second right into Lind Street, past Ryde Theatre on left. At the end of Lind Street there will be a set of three zebra crossings at top of Union Street.

Turn left down Union Street (landmarks: a big shopping street). At the bottom of Union Street you will see the sea and Ryde Pier ahead. Go right round the roundabout and head along the sea front Esplanade due east, with the sea on your left, towards Seaview.

This road is the A3055 (landmarks: on left a Bus station, entrance to the Hovercraft Terminal, L.A.Bowl in old Ryde Pavilion, fun fair and Ryde swimming pool and boating lake). At the boating lake the road swings right inland and up East Hill Road.

At top of East Hill the road swings left (landmark on right Ryde St. Johns Church and on left Bishop Lovett Middle School). Go past the traffic lights/pedestrian crossing and at the mini-roundabout take first left on B3330 to Seaview along Appley Road. Follow B3330 out of Ryde (!! Beware !! It is still a 30mph road but it is very easy to go too fast!). After approx. 600 meters there is a T junction, turn left, towards Harcourt Sands Holiday centre, Puckpool Park dropping down hill and arriving on seafront with the sea on your left (landmark: as you first see the sea again the Boat House is on your right). Continue along the seafront with the sea on your left past Springvale Hotel. Here you will see a brown sign for the Seaview Hotel saying follow signs for shops and seafront. Continue along seafront, keep straight on all the way, a new sea wall will be on your left and at the sharp right-hand turn at the end of the road you will cut inland a few meters.

Follow the road continuing to the east (left) along Bluett Avenue. At the end the road again turns right up the hill into Seafield Road. The streets will be quite narrow from now on! (landmark: Masonic Hall on the right).

At the top of Seafield Road, turn left into Church Street and then go straight on into West Street (very narrow single road, but still two-way traffic). At the end of West Street (landmark: An estate agents shop called Christie Matthews) turn left again, downhill High Street towards the sea The Seaview Hotel & Restaurant is 20 meters down the hill on the left before the sea.
